Day 2

I think I am finally on italian time.  I woke up early this morning and was at breakfast by 8ish. Breakfast is very light here. Just a roll and some jam with your choice of coffee, tea, or hot milk.

After, Anette and I went walking in the city to do a bit of shopping and general site seeing. This city is dead other than people going to work before 10. None of the shops are open. The only places open are the places that sell breakfast or coffee shops. Early we stumbled on some roman ruins that were under the current city elevation. Just a couple fo feet eblow the street line there are a serise of rroman ruins that were later build right on top of . They were kinda fun to stumble upon. I will get more soon.

Juliet’s balcony was open early and for once there were very few people there. I finally got those pictures I was wanting.

This is the graffiti wall. Well it used to be white.

Once the shops started opening we started walking into many of them. It was amazing. The shoes the clothes. It was all AMAZING!! (it’s a good thing I don’t live here or I would spend wayy too much money on clothes and shoes) I was in awe the entire time. Soo many pretty things everywhere.  Converse and Birkenstock are very popular here.  Converse are very expensive like €70 and they are EVERYWHERE. All of the younger people wear them.

Meandering  a little further we ended up further down south and found a roman gate that was just suck between some buildings. It was fun to see something so old plastered between 2 buildings that were much newer. There we saw the google earth car. Hehe. Maybe we will be on google earth looking like tourists stairing and taking pictures of the car.

We walked down toward the arena and in that area. The arena is a sight to see. I did not take any pictures because I was just so taken by the area that I just wanted to take it all in. That and I know we will be back there  before we leave.

On the way back we walked across the last and final bridge on this side of the river that I had not walked down. It’s a long way back to the hostel from that bridge.

The hill to the hostel is a brutal one. Between that and the stairs up to say hi to the guys perodically I should have amazing calfs and a pretty nice butt.

Lunch was at the hostel . I am not sure what the meat dish was that was on the side of the pasta but it was decent. And the pasta was good as always.

After lunch was spent reading my book and taking a much needed nap. Geeze the beds are comfy.

Dinner was AMAZING. It was at a family (and I mean the entire family) run restraunt off of the beaten path and was just down (less than 150 yards) down from the hostel. Parentals, we will be going there. The pasta with meat sauce was great. For the second course they served stake (just for us) and some vegitables. Let me tell you it was a good thing I did not try to eat all of the stake because it was sooo much food. The third course is the one that got me.  Mother, they served the best tirmisu I have ever had. It was to die for. The wine was good as usual. The espresso after dinner just kindof topped it off. I am offically a happy sleepy person.

Tomorrow we head to Munich. I am not usre what kind of an internet connection that we will have or when we will get one. I will make sure to take plenty of pictures and write when we get back. We come back Saturday so I will post as soon as I can after.
